The most time you will waste in marketing is time spent exploring ideas that have no budget attached to them.  

When planning marketing of a release, figuring out the budget needs to be one of the first steps. It is the greatest predictor of marketing activity. 

A marketing plan without a working budget is merely daydreaming.
